why is kindness becoming a lost trait?
Kindness. Kindness is so important today. I believe it's more important today than it's ever been. Unfortunately, the idea of being kind simply because kindness is the right thing to do, is lost.
People use kindness with tactics. With ulterior motives. People take advantage of kindness in hopes to have personal gain. {I mean, think about all those videos on Facebook where someone does something nice and it just so happens to be recorded.... I 100% believe that majority of these videos were created in hopes to go "viral."}
Here me out.
Social media is awesome. It is truly an incredible thing that came about and we are so lucky to have it to connect us with everyone else: not only in the US but globally. But social media also freaks the crap out of me. Especially knowing that my children will be raised in a world where it is a HUGE part of life.
What breaks my heart is knowing that these platforms are being used to tear people apart. Every day there are DOZENS of good things that happen to us, but nobody thinks to share those on social media. But the ONE bad thing, it immediately gets shared and engulfs their time for hours if not days! AND.... it brings negativity to people around them...
I don't know about you but when people post bad/negative things on social media, it brings me down. And I have to believe that it brings down the hundreds of other people who have seen the post, too.
Why can't people be kind just being kindness matters?
As a mom, it is my responsibility to instill kindness in my children.

As a mom, it is my responsibility to instill kindness in my children.
Every single day, I tell my toddler to be kind, to love others, be generous, but mostly, be kind. He is growing to be such a compassionate and respectful little guy. I pray that he does BIG things in this world. And that he does them ALL with kindness.
We can't change adults in our community. If someone is rude, angry, hateful, it is highly unlikely that they will change. That's why {we} should focus on raising our children to be kind. Encourage them to use their manners in the home and in public. Remind them to say nice things to others. {and be sure to say nice things yourself - they are ALWAYS listening to us!}
If we focus more on teaching kindness, we can only hope that the future will be a little more kind than it is today.
Check out this video below about kindness. He could not be more right.
In an effort to bring a little more positivity to the forefront, share something KIND that you have done for someone else recently in the comments! 💚
